🧁 Poppy Seed Magdalena with Sesame-Honey Glaze

Ingredients
- 200 g wheat flour (Type 405)
- 1 Pck. baking powder
- 100 g butter (soft)
- 120 g sugar
- 3 Stk. eggs (Size M)
- 2 Essl. poppy seeds
- 1 Stk. lemon (zested rind)
- 1 Essl. sesame seeds (white)
- 2 Essl. honey
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius top/bottom heat. Line 6 cups of a cupcake baking tray with paper liners.
- 2. Mix the flour with the baking powder in a small bowl and set aside.
- 3. Beat the soft butter with the sugar and lemon zest in a large bowl using a mixer until creamy.
- 4. Add the eggs one by one and beat each egg well before adding the next one.
- 5. Fold in the flour mixture and poppy seeds gently into the batter.
- 6. Distribute the batter evenly among the 6 paper liners.
- 7. Bake the magnadalenas for approx. 20 minutes until golden brown. Do a skewer test: insert a toothpick into the center, it should come out clean.
- 8. Mix the sesame seeds with the honey in a small bowl.
- 9. Let the magnadalenas cool completely. Then brush them with the sesame-honey mixture.
- 10. Serve the magnadalenas with hot coffee or tea.
