  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius top/bottom heat. Line 6 cups of a cupcake baking tray with paper liners.
  2. 2. Mix the flour with the baking powder in a small bowl and set aside.
  3. 3. Beat the soft butter with the sugar and lemon zest in a large bowl using a mixer until creamy.
  4. 4. Add the eggs one by one and beat each egg well before adding the next one.
  5. 5. Fold in the flour mixture and poppy seeds gently into the batter.
  6. 6. Distribute the batter evenly among the 6 paper liners.
  7. 7. Bake the magnadalenas for approx. 20 minutes until golden brown. Do a skewer test: insert a toothpick into the center, it should come out clean.
  8. 8. Mix the sesame seeds with the honey in a small bowl.
  9. 9. Let the magnadalenas cool completely. Then brush them with the sesame-honey mixture.
  10. 10. Serve the magnadalenas with hot coffee or tea.
