Ingredients
- 400g Chicken Thighs
- 4 Garlic Cloves
- 1 EL Thyme
- 2 EL Olive Oil
- 1 TL Salt
- 1 TL Pepper
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the air fryer to 200 °C and heat it for 3 minutes.
- 2. Pat 400 g chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Never wash them under water.
- 3. Peel 4 garlic cloves and press them through a press or chop them finely.
- 4. In a large bowl, combine 2 tablespoons olive oil, the chopped garlic, 1 tablespoon thyme, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon pepper.
- 5. Rub the dry chicken thighs thoroughly with the marinade on all sides. Make sure every part is covered.
- 6. Place the marinated chicken thighs in the air fryer basket. Ensure they don't touch so air can circulate.
- 7. Cook the chicken thighs at 200 °C for 15 minutes, until golden brown. Flip them firmly after 7.5 minutes for even browning.
- 8. Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer. It must be at least 75 °C to be safe.
- 9. If the temperature isn't reached, cook for another 3–5 minutes and check again. The skin should be crispy.
- 10. Remove the basket and let the chicken thighs rest on a plate for 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.
- 11. Pour the remaining cooking fat from the basket into a small bowl. It makes a delicious dip for the chicken thighs.
- 12. Arrange the chicken thighs on two plates. They are perfect when the skin is golden brown and crispy and the meat remains juicy.
