  4. 4. Stack 2 to 3 slices on top of each other and cut them diagonally into wide strips.
  5. 5. Peel the onion and slice it into thin rings.
  6. 6. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
  7. 7. Separate the onion rings from each other and add them to the flour mixture.
  8. 8. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a pan over medium to high heat.
  9. 9. Fry half of the onion rings for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown.
  10. 10. Let the fried onions drain on kitchen paper.
  11. 11. Clean the pan.
  12. 12. Repeat the frying process with the remaining oil, butter, and onions until all are crispy.
  13. 13. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in the same pan over medium heat.
  14. 14. Fry the zucchini strips for about 3 minutes.
  15. 15. Deglaze the zucchini with cream.
  16. 16. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  17. 17. Simmer the zucchini in the cream for about 3 minutes.
  18. 18. Add the spaetzle to the boiling salted water.
  19. 19. Cook the spaetzle for 3 to 5 minutes.
  20. 20. Remove the spaetzle from the water as soon as they float to the surface.
  21. 21. Drain the spaetzle.
  22. 22. Return the spaetzle to the pot.
  23. 23. Season the zucchini with salt and pepper.
  24. 24. Fold the zucchini into the spaetzle.
  25. 25. Mix the grated cheese into the spaetzle.
