  1. 1. Mix the yeast with the sugar and the water.
  2. 2. Add the flour, two teaspoons of salt, and six tablespoons of olive oil to the dough.
  3. 3. Knead the dough for about ten minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
  4. 4. Shape the dough into a ball.
  5. 5. Lightly brush the ball with a little olive oil.
  6. 6. Let the dough rise covered for about an hour until it has doubled in size.
  7. 7. Prepare the filling in the meantime.
  8. 8. Grease two baking pans with four tablespoons of olive oil.
  9. 9. Divide the yeast dough into two equal halves.
  10. 10. Roll out the first half of the dough into a long rectangle.
  11. 11. Spread half of the sour cream over the dough.
  12. 12. Distribute half of the onion rings, grapes, dried tomatoes, and chives on top.
  13. 13. Cut the dough sheet into strips about five centimeters wide.
  14. 14. Roll up the first strip tightly.
  15. 15. Place the roll in the center of the baking pan.
  16. 16. Wrap the remaining dough strips spirally around the center.
  17. 17. Repeat steps ten to sixteen for the second spiral.
  18. 18. Place the first baking pan in the cold oven.
  19. 19. Then preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  20. 20. Bake the first spiral for 35 to 40 minutes until it is golden brown.
  21. 21. Cover the second spiral.
  22. 22. Bake the second spiral in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
  23. 23. Serve the spirals while still warm.
