🍽️ Savoy Cabbage Rolls in Orange Cream Sauce

Ingredients
- Salt Pinch
- Napa Cabbage 1 pc
- Mushrooms, white 250 g
- Oil 3 tbsp
- Pepper, black ground Pinch
- Pork mince 400 g
- Eggs 1 pc
- Breadcrumbs 4 tbsp
- Orange juice 100 ml
- Vegetable broth 250 ml
- Whipping cream 200 g
- Cornstarch 1 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Bring about 2 liters of water with salt to a boil in a large pot.
- 2. Separate 8 medium or 16 small savoy cabbage leaves and wash them thoroughly.
- 3. Place the savoy cabbage leaves in the boiling salted water for about 4 minutes until they are soft and pliable.
- 4. Remove the leaves, place them in a colander, and rinse them with cold water.
- 5. Let the leaves drain well and trim the thick central ribs if necessary.
- 6. Clean the mushrooms with a kitchen towel and cut them into cubes.
- 7. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan and fry the mushroom cubes for about 4 minutes.
- 8. Season the mushrooms with salt and pepper and let them cool down.
- 9. In a bowl, mix the cooled mushrooms with the minced meat, the egg, and the breadcrumbs.
- 10. Season the filling with salt and pepper.
- 11. Shape the meat mixture into 8 oval portions.
- 12. Place a meat ball on a savoy cabbage leaf.
- 13. If necessary, place a second leaf on top.
- 14. Fold the sides of the leaf over the filling.
- 15. Roll the leaf tightly.
- 16. Secure the roll with a toothpick.
- 17. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan.
- 18. Fry the savoy cabbage rolls in the pan for about 5 minutes.
- 19. Deglaze the pan with orange juice and vegetable broth.
- 20. Let the rolls cook covered on low heat for about 20 minutes.
- 21. Remove the savoy cabbage rolls from the pan.
- 22. Stir the cream into the sauce in the pan.
- 23. Mix the starch with 2 tablespoons of cold water in a small bowl.
- 24. Add the starch-water mixture to the sauce.
- 25. Let the sauce simmer gently for about 2 minutes.
- 26. Finally, taste the sauce and adjust seasoning.
- 27. Place the savoy cabbage rolls back into the orange cream sauce.
- 28. Serve the dish.
