  1. 1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly and peel them.
  2. 2. Halve large potatoes so that all pieces are roughly the same size.
  3. 3. Peel the carrots and cut off the ends.
  4. 4. Cut the carrots into thirds.
  5. 5. Put the potatoes and carrots into a pot.
  6. 6. Cover them with salted water and bring it to a boil.
  7. 7. Cook the vegetables covered on medium heat for about 18 minutes.
  8. 8. Drain the vegetables in a colander.
  9. 9. Set the colander aside to let the vegetables cool.
  10. 10. Let the pickles drain well.
  11. 11. Dice the pickles finely.
  12. 12. Clean the leek and halve it lengthwise.
  13. 13. Cut the leek crosswise into pieces about 1 cm wide.
  14. 14. Rinse the leek pieces thoroughly in a colander.
  15. 15. Roast the sunflower seeds in a pan without fat on medium heat.
  16. 16. Roast the seeds for about 2 minutes until they are golden brown.
  17. 17. Remove the roasted seeds from the pan and place them on a plate.
  18. 18. Heat oil in the same pan.
  19. 19. Sauté the leek for about 2 minutes.
  20. 20. Deglaze the leek with water.
  21. 21. Cook the leek covered for about 6 minutes.
  22. 22. Bring about 1 liter of water to a boil in another pot.
  23. 23. Add the Wiener sausages to the boiling water.
  24. 24. Remove the pot with the sausages from the heat immediately.
  25. 25. Halve the orange.
  26. 26. Squeeze the juice from the orange.
  27. 27. Mix yogurt, mayonnaise, and ketchup in a bowl.
  28. 28. Add 3 tablespoons of orange juice to the mixture.
  29. 29. Stir the sauce well.
  30. 30. Slice the cooled potatoes and carrots into pieces about 0.5 cm thick.
  31. 31. Add the slices to the dressing in the bowl.
  32. 32. Let the leek drain in the colander.
  33. 33. Add the leek and pickles to the bowl.
  34. 34. Mix everything well together.
  35. 35. Season the salad with salt and pepper to taste.
  36. 36. Plate the potato salad.
  37. 37. Sprinkle the roasted sunflower seeds over it.
  38. 38. Serve the Wiener sausages alongside.
