🥤 Wiener Sausages with Potato Salad and Cocktail Dressing

Ingredients
- potatoes, mainly waxy 1 kg
- carrots 2 pcs.
- salt pinch
- pickles 6 pcs.
- leek 1 pcs.
- sunflower seeds 60 g
- oil 2 tbsp
- sugar pinch
- Vienna sausages 8 pcs.
- oranges 1 pcs.
- yogurt, plain 150 g
- mayonnaise 2 tbsp
- ketchup 2 tbsp
- pepper, black ground pinch
Instructions
- 1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly and peel them.
- 2. Halve large potatoes so that all pieces are roughly the same size.
- 3. Peel the carrots and cut off the ends.
- 4. Cut the carrots into thirds.
- 5. Put the potatoes and carrots into a pot.
- 6. Cover them with salted water and bring it to a boil.
- 7. Cook the vegetables covered on medium heat for about 18 minutes.
- 8. Drain the vegetables in a colander.
- 9. Set the colander aside to let the vegetables cool.
- 10. Let the pickles drain well.
- 11. Dice the pickles finely.
- 12. Clean the leek and halve it lengthwise.
- 13. Cut the leek crosswise into pieces about 1 cm wide.
- 14. Rinse the leek pieces thoroughly in a colander.
- 15. Roast the sunflower seeds in a pan without fat on medium heat.
- 16. Roast the seeds for about 2 minutes until they are golden brown.
- 17. Remove the roasted seeds from the pan and place them on a plate.
- 18. Heat oil in the same pan.
- 19. Sauté the leek for about 2 minutes.
- 20. Deglaze the leek with water.
- 21. Cook the leek covered for about 6 minutes.
- 22. Bring about 1 liter of water to a boil in another pot.
- 23. Add the Wiener sausages to the boiling water.
- 24. Remove the pot with the sausages from the heat immediately.
- 25. Halve the orange.
- 26. Squeeze the juice from the orange.
- 27. Mix yogurt, mayonnaise, and ketchup in a bowl.
- 28. Add 3 tablespoons of orange juice to the mixture.
- 29. Stir the sauce well.
- 30. Slice the cooled potatoes and carrots into pieces about 0.5 cm thick.
- 31. Add the slices to the dressing in the bowl.
- 32. Let the leek drain in the colander.
- 33. Add the leek and pickles to the bowl.
- 34. Mix everything well together.
- 35. Season the salad with salt and pepper to taste.
- 36. Plate the potato salad.
- 37. Sprinkle the roasted sunflower seeds over it.
- 38. Serve the Wiener sausages alongside.
