  1. 1. Put water and sugar into a pot.
  2. 2. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. 3. Let the syrup simmer on medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  4. 4. Pour the sugar syrup into a bottle.
  5. 5. Let the syrup cool down.
  6. 6. Wash the lemon under hot water.
  7. 7. Peel a piece of lemon zest using a vegetable peeler.
  8. 8. Cut the lemon in half.
  9. 9. Squeeze the juice out of the lemon.
  10. 10. Separate the egg white from the egg yolk.
  11. 11. Use the egg yolk for another purpose.
  12. 12. Pour 40 ml of whisky into a shaker.
  13. 13. Pour 30 ml of lemon juice into the shaker.
  14. 14. Pour 15 ml of the cooled sugar syrup into the shaker.
  15. 15. Pour 10 ml of egg white into the shaker.
  16. 16. Shake the mixture vigorously.
  17. 17. Add ice cubes to the shaker.
  18. 18. Shake the mixture vigorously again.
  19. 19. Fill a glass with ice cubes.
  20. 20. Rub the lemon zest over the rim of the glass.
  21. 21. Strain the Whisky Sour into the glass.
  22. 22. Garnish the drink with the lemon zest as desired.
