  3. 3. Knead the ingredients into a firm dough using your hands.
  4. 4. Wrap the dough in cling film.
  5. 5. Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.
  6. 6. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  7. 7. Lightly flour your work surface.
  8. 8. Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 0.5 centimeters.
  9. 9. Cut out hearts and stars in various sizes.
  10. 10. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  11. 11. Bake the cookies for about 12 minutes until lightly brown.
  12. 12. Carefully remove the cookies from the oven.
  13. 13. Let the cookies cool down completely.
  14. 14. Mix powdered sugar with one tablespoon of water in a bowl.
  15. 15. Stir the mixture into a thick glaze.
  16. 16. Take half of the glaze into a separate bowl.
  17. 17. Mix this half with red food coloring.
  18. 18. Fill the red and white glaze into separate freezer bags.
  19. 19. Seal the bags.
  20. 20. Cut off a small corner from each bag.
  21. 21. Apply the red glaze to the hats and clothes of the Santa Claus cookies.
  22. 22. Draw accents and borders with the white glaze.
  23. 23. Let the glaze dry completely.
  24. 24. Store the finished cookies airtight in a tin.
