🍰 Santa Claus Cookies

Ingredients
- flour, Type 405 250 g
- baking powder 1 tsp
- sugar 50 g
- vanilla sugar 1 tsp
- butter 120 g
- eggs 1 pc.
- powdered sugar 100 g
- water 1 tbsp
- food coloring, red 1 tsp
Instructions
- 1. Mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and vanilla sugar in a bowl.
- 2. Add cold butter and eggs.
- 3. Knead the ingredients into a firm dough using your hands.
- 4. Wrap the dough in cling film.
- 5. Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.
- 6. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 7. Lightly flour your work surface.
- 8. Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 0.5 centimeters.
- 9. Cut out hearts and stars in various sizes.
- 10. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 11. Bake the cookies for about 12 minutes until lightly brown.
- 12. Carefully remove the cookies from the oven.
- 13. Let the cookies cool down completely.
- 14. Mix powdered sugar with one tablespoon of water in a bowl.
- 15. Stir the mixture into a thick glaze.
- 16. Take half of the glaze into a separate bowl.
- 17. Mix this half with red food coloring.
- 18. Fill the red and white glaze into separate freezer bags.
- 19. Seal the bags.
- 20. Cut off a small corner from each bag.
- 21. Apply the red glaze to the hats and clothes of the Santa Claus cookies.
- 22. Draw accents and borders with the white glaze.
- 23. Let the glaze dry completely.
- 24. Store the finished cookies airtight in a tin.
