Ingredients
- butter 125 g
- eggs 2 pcs
- sugar 130 g
- salt pinch
- walnut kernels 300 g
- cinnamon pinch
- wheat flour, Type 405 330 g
- brown sugar 30 g
Instructions
- 1. Take the butter out of the fridge so it becomes soft. Beat one egg, set the egg white aside. In a bowl, beat the soft butter, 130 g sugar, a pinch of salt, the remaining egg and the egg yolk until fluffy with a hand mixer.
- 2. Finely chop 200 g walnuts. Add the chopped walnuts along with cinnamon and flour to the butter mixture and knead everything well. Shape the dough into rolls about 3 cm in diameter on a floured surface, wrap in plastic wrap and place in the fridge for 2 hours.
- 3. Preheat the oven to 175 °C (top/bottom heat). Slice the rolls into about 1 cm thick discs and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush with the reserved egg white, press half a walnut into each cookie and bake for approx. 15–20 minutes.
- 4. Take the cookies out of the oven and sprinkle with cane sugar while still warm. Let cool and enjoy. Bon appétit!
