🍰 Crunchy Walnut Stars with Chocolate Decoration

Ingredients
- Walnut kernels 150 g
- Eggs 1 pcs
- butter 125 g
- Sugar 70 g
- Vanilla sugar 10 g
- Wheat flour, Type 405 250 g
- Orange marmalade 100 g
- Chocolate, dark 100 g
- Chocolate, white 25 g
Instructions
- 1. Pulverize the walnuts in a blender until they are finely ground.
- 2. Separate the egg: Remove the yolk and keep the white aside.
- 3. Mix the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, egg yolk, and flour in a bowl with a hand mixer until you have a smooth dough.
- 4. Add a little water if the dough seems too dry.
- 5. Wrap the dough in cling film.
- 6. Place the dough in the refrigerator for at least one hour to chill.
- 7. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 8. Cut two freezer bags open lengthwise.
- 9. Take the dough in portions and roll it out between the two cut bags on a work surface.
- 10. Make sure the dough is about three millimeters thick.
- 11. Put the rolled-out dough back in the refrigerator for ten minutes.
- 12. Cut star shapes out of the cold dough.
- 13. Place the stars on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, leaving some space between them.
- 14. Bake the stars in the oven for about ten minutes until they are crisp.
- 15. Let the baked stars cool down completely on the tray.
- 16. Arrange the cooled stars side by side.
- 17. Spread orange jam on every second star.
- 18. Place another star without jam on top of the jam-covered stars.
- 19. Chop the dark chocolate and the white chocolate separately into small pieces.
- 20. Bring about 500 milliliters of water to a boil in a pot.
- 21. Place a metal bowl over the pot, but make sure the bowl does not touch the hot water.
- 22. Melt the white chocolate first in the hot water bath.
- 23. Remove the bowl and then melt the dark chocolate in the same way.
- 24. Dip half of the stars into the melted dark chocolate.
- 25. Fill the white chocolate into a freezer bag.
- 26. Cut off a small corner of the bag.
- 27. Trace the outlines of the stars with the white chocolate.
- 28. Decorate the stars with the remaining walnuts.
- 29. Let the chocolate dry completely.
- 30. Enjoy your homemade walnut stars.
