Ingredients
- red bell pepper 1 pc.
- yellow bell pepper 1 pc.
- yellow onions 1 pc.
- brown mushrooms 350 g
- oil 3 tsp
- Vemondo vegan gyro with onions 300 g
- ketchup 60 ml
- Smokehouse BBQ rub 2 tsp
- salt pinch
- hot dog buns 8 pc.
- Vemondo grated cheese alternative 150 g
Instructions
- 1. Wash the bell peppers thoroughly.
- 2. Halve the bell peppers and remove the stem and seeds.
- 3. Dice the bell peppers into small pieces.
- 4. Halve the onion and peel it.
- 5. Finely dice the onion.
- 6. Clean the mushrooms with a kitchen cloth if necessary.
- 7. Slice the mushrooms.
- 8. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 9. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- 10. Fry the bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, and vegan gyro meat for about 7 minutes.
- 11. Add the ketchup to the pan.
- 12. Season the mixture with BBQ rub and salt.
- 13. Cut the hot dog buns, but do not cut all the way through.
- 14. Place 3 tablespoons of the vegan gyro mixture into each bun.
- 15. Sprinkle the vegan grated cheese over the top.
- 16. Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 17. Bake the sandwiches in the oven for about 7 minutes.
- 18. Serve the sandwiches hot.
