  1. 1. Wash the bell peppers thoroughly.
  2. 2. Halve the bell peppers and remove the stem and seeds.
  3. 3. Dice the bell peppers into small pieces.
  4. 4. Halve the onion and peel it.
  5. 5. Finely dice the onion.
  6. 6. Clean the mushrooms with a kitchen cloth if necessary.
  7. 7. Slice the mushrooms.
  8. 8. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  9. 9. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  10. 10. Fry the bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, and vegan gyro meat for about 7 minutes.
  11. 11. Add the ketchup to the pan.
  12. 12. Season the mixture with BBQ rub and salt.
  13. 13. Cut the hot dog buns, but do not cut all the way through.
  14. 14. Place 3 tablespoons of the vegan gyro mixture into each bun.
  15. 15. Sprinkle the vegan grated cheese over the top.
  16. 16. Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  17. 17. Bake the sandwiches in the oven for about 7 minutes.
  18. 18. Serve the sandwiches hot.
