  1. 1. Wash the tomato thoroughly and remove the hard stem at the top.
  2. 2. Slice the tomato into even rounds.
  3. 3. Wash the chives and shake off excess water.
  4. 4. Chop the chives into small pieces.
  5. 5. Peel the garlic cloves and chop them finely.
  6. 6. Wash the spinach in a sieve and let it drain well.
  7. 7. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan with a lid over medium heat.
  8. 8. Add the spinach, a pinch of salt, and the chopped garlic to the pan.
  9. 9. Sauté the spinach until it has wilted.
  10. 10. Remove excess liquid from the spinach using a sieve.
  11. 11. Mix the drained spinach with the spread in a bowl.
  12. 12. Spread 1 tablespoon of margarine on each slice of bread.
  13. 13. Place 4 bread slices in the pan over medium heat.
  14. 14. Fry the bread slices on the side with the margarine.
  15. 15. Place a slice of the spread on the fried bread slice.
  16. 16. Place 2 slices of tomato on top.
  17. 17. Sprinkle some chopped chives over the tomatoes.
  18. 18. Add a spoonful of the spinach cream on top.
  19. 19. Place additional slices of the spread on the cream.
  20. 20. Cover the sandwich with another slice of bread.
  21. 21. Flip the sandwich as soon as the bottom side is golden brown.
  22. 22. Press the sandwich slightly to help the filling melt.
  23. 23. Continue frying until the second bread slice is also golden brown.
