🍽️ Creamy Vegan Dauphinois-style Potato Gratin

Ingredients
- potatoes, mainly firm 1.2 kg
- garlic cloves 1 pc.
- margarine, vegan 1.5 tbsp
- thyme, fresh 5 g
- oat cream 200 ml
- oat drink 200 ml
- salt pinch
- pepper, black ground pinch
- nutmeg, ground pinch
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with fan (convection).
- 2. Wash the potatoes thoroughly and peel them.
- 3. Slice the potatoes into very thin rounds of about 2 millimeters thick.
- 4. Peel the garlic cloves and cut them in half.
- 5. Take a large baking dish and grease it with one tablespoon of margarine.
- 6. Rub the inside of the dish with one of the garlic halves to infuse it with flavor.
- 7. Grate the second garlic half finely using a grater.
- 8. Place the potato slices in the prepared dish, layering them neatly on top of each other.
- 9. Wash the thyme and shake off excess water.
- 10. Strip the small thyme leaves from the woody stems.
- 11. Add oat cream, oat drink, and the grated garlic into a bowl.
- 12. Mix the liquid mixture well with the thyme leaves.
- 13. Season the sauce generously with salt, pepper, and grated nutmeg.
- 14. Pour the seasoned sauce evenly over the layers of potatoes.
- 15. Distribute the remaining margarine in small pieces over the surface of the gratin.
- 16. Bake the gratin for about 60 minutes in the preheated oven.
- 17. Remove the dish from the oven and let the dish cool down for a short moment.
- 18. Serve the warm gratin and enjoy your meal!
