  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
  2. 2. Wash the potatoes thoroughly.
  3. 3. Peel the potatoes.
  4. 4. Slice the potatoes into very thin slices or use a mandoline.
  5. 5. Peel the garlic.
  6. 6. Grease a large baking dish with some fat.
  7. 7. Rub the inside of the dish with the garlic clove.
  8. 8. Place the potato slices into the dish.
  9. 9. Pour the soy drink over the potatoes.
  10. 10. Season the soy drink with salt and grated nutmeg.
  11. 11. Place the dish in the oven.
  12. 12. Bake the gratin for about 20 minutes.
  13. 13. Remove the dish from the oven.
  14. 14. Sprinkle the vegan grated cheese over the gratin.
  15. 15. Bake the gratin for another 30 minutes until golden brown.
  16. 16. Take the finished gratin out of the oven.
  17. 17. Let the dish cool down for a short while.
  18. 18. Serve the gratin warm.
