🍽️ Crispy Vegan Cheese Fondue with Bread

Ingredients
- Bread, rustic 1 pc.
- Olive oil 2 tbsp.
- Margarine, vegan 50 g
- Wheat flour, Type 405 50 g
- Dry white wine 300 ml
- Oat drink Barista 700 ml
- Vegan cheese slices 300 g
- Salt pinch
- Pepper, white ground pinch
- Turmeric, ground pinch
- Paprika, sweet pinch
- Gherkins 200 g
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 2. Cut the bread into cubes of about 2 centimeters.
- 3. Place the bread cubes on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 4. Drizzle the bread with olive oil.
- 5. Bake the bread for about 10 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- 6. Melt the margarine in a pot over medium heat for about 1 minute.
- 7. Add the flour and stir briefly.
- 8. Continue heating the mixture for about 1 minute.
- 9. Pour in the white wine and the oat drink (barista version).
- 10. Increase the heat and stir constantly with a whisk.
- 11. Bring the sauce to a boil until it becomes creamy.
- 12. Reduce the heat to the lowest setting.
- 13. Add the Genießerscheiben (vegan cheese slices) to the sauce.
- 14. Stir the slices smooth using a hand mixer with whisk attachments.
- 15. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, turmeric, and sweet paprika powder.
- 16. Serve the fondue in the pot or in a fondue dish.
- 17. Serve with the crispy bread cubes and cornichons.
