🍽️ Vegan Rösti Burgers with Apple Sauerkraut and Mustard Cream

Ingredients
- Apples, red 0.5 pc.
- Oil 5 tbsp
- Wheat beer 70 ml
- Sauerkraut 200 g
- Vegan fresh spread, plain 2 tbsp
- Mustard 1 tbsp
- Sweet mustard 1 tbsp
- Salt pinch
- Pepper, black ground pinch
- Potatoes, starchy 400 g
- Onions, red 1 pc.
- Cornstarch 2 tbsp
- Vemondo vegan burger patties 4 pc.
- Vegan cheese slices 4 slices
- Hamburger buns 4 pc.
Instructions
- 1. Wash the apple and remove the core.
- 2. Cut the apple into small cubes.
- 3. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pot over high heat.
- 4. Sauté the apple cubes for about 3 minutes.
- 5. Deglaze the apple mixture with wheat beer.
- 6. Add the sauerkraut to the pot.
- 7. Let the mixture simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes.
- 8. Mix vegan spread, mustard, and sweet mustard in a bowl.
- 9. Season the mustard cream with salt and pepper.
- 10. Peel and wash the potatoes.
- 11. Grate the potatoes coarsely.
- 12. Peel the onion and grate it coarsely.
- 13. Mix potatoes, onion, cornstarch, and salt in a bowl.
- 14. Squeeze out the excess liquid from the potato mixture.
- 15. Discard the squeezed-out liquid.
- 16. Heat 4 tablespoons of oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- 17. Shape 4 equal-sized rösti patties from the mixture using your hands.
- 18. Fry the rösti patties for about 6 minutes until golden brown on all sides.
- 19. Drain the finished rösti patties on kitchen paper.
- 20. Set the rösti patties aside.
- 21. Fry the vegan patties in the pan over medium heat for about 3 minutes.
- 22. Flip the patties.
- 23. Place the vegan cheese slices on the patties.
- 24. Close the lid of the frying pan.
- 25. Let the slices melt for about 3 minutes.
- 26. Set the finished patties aside on a plate.
- 27. Slice the burger buns open.
- 28. Toast the cut sides of the buns in the hot pan for about 1 minute.
- 29. Spread 1 tablespoon of mustard cream on the cut sides of the buns.
- 30. Place the vegan patties on the buns.
- 31. Place the rösti patties on the vegan patties.
- 32. Add the apple sauerkraut on top.
- 33. Close the burgers.
- 34. Serve the burgers.
