  3. 3. Halve the cherries and remove the pits.
  4. 4. Wash the lemon under running water.
  5. 5. Grate the fine zest of the lemon using a grater.
  6. 6. Cut the lemon in half.
  7. 7. Squeeze the juice from one of the lemon halves.
  8. 8. Place the cherry halves into a baking dish.
  9. 9. Sprinkle the cherries with vanilla sugar.
  10. 10. Add one tablespoon of lemon juice to the cherries.
  11. 11. Add the grated lemon zest to the cherries.
  12. 12. Mix the cherries with the ingredients and let them marinate briefly.
  13. 13. Set the prepared cherries aside.
  14. 14. Take a large bowl.
  15. 15. Add soft margarine to the bowl.
  16. 16. Add sugar to the bowl.
  17. 17. Add ground hazelnuts to the bowl.
  18. 18. Add flour to the bowl.
  19. 19. Knead the ingredients together into crumbly streusel.
  20. 20. If the dough is too dry, add one to two tablespoons of water.
  21. 21. Distribute the streusel evenly over the cherries in the baking dish.
