  1. 1. Peel the apples and cut them into quarters.
  2. 2. Remove the core from the apple quarters.
  3. 3. Cut the apple pieces into small cubes.
  4. 4. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a pot.
  5. 5. Sauté the apple cubes for two to three minutes.
  6. 6. Add the sauerkraut to the apples.
  7. 7. Let the mixture simmer gently for about five minutes.
  8. 8. Drain the pickles.
  9. 9. Slice the pickles.
  10. 10. Cut the baguettes in half horizontally.
  11. 11. Open the buns like a book without cutting all the way through.
  12. 12. Heat the remaining oil in a pan over medium to high heat.
  13. 13. Fry the vegan sausages for five to six minutes on all sides.
  14. 14. Season the warm sauerkraut with salt and sugar.
  15. 15. Spread sweet mustard on the baguettes.
  16. 16. Spread ketchup on the baguettes as well.
  17. 17. Place one fried sausage into each bun.
  18. 18. Top the hot dogs with the apple sauerkraut as desired.
  19. 19. Add fried onions if desired.
  20. 20. Garnish the hot dogs with the pickle slices.
