  5. 5. Add salt and sugar and knead the mixture vigorously by hand.
  6. 6. Set the red cabbage aside.
  7. 7. Wash the cucumber and the tomatoes.
  8. 8. Dice the cucumber and the tomatoes.
  9. 9. Halve the onion and peel it.
  10. 10. Slice the onion into strips.
  11. 11. Cut the iceberg lettuce into coarse strips.
  12. 12. Wash the lettuce and spin it dry.
