🍽️ Vegan Alpine Macaroni with Fried Onions

Ingredients
- Salt Pinch
- Macaroni 500 g
- Apples, red 1 pc.
- Oil 1 tbsp
- Margarine, vegan 2 tbsp
- Wheat flour, Type 405 3 tbsp
- Almond drink 300 ml
- Vegan cheese slices 4 slices
- Sweet bell pepper 1 tsp
- Vemondo Grating delight 150 g
- Breadcrumbs 3 tbsp
- Onions, yellow 3 pcs.
- Frying oil 300 ml
- Chives, fresh 15 g
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius with fan.
- 2. Bring about 5 liters of salted water to a boil in a pot.
- 3. Cook the macaroni in the boiling water for about 9 minutes until al dente.
- 4. Drain the macaroni in a colander.
- 5. Place the macaroni into a baking dish.
- 6. Wash the apple and remove the core.
- 7. Cut the apple into small cubes.
- 8. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pot on high heat.
- 9. Fry the apple pieces for about 3 minutes until they start to change color.
- 10. Remove the apple pieces from the pot and place them on a plate.
- 11. Melt 2 tablespoons of margarine in the same pot on medium heat.
- 12. Add 1 tablespoon of flour and stir well.
- 13. Pour in the almond drink and stir constantly until the sauce boils.
- 14. Boil the sauce briefly until it becomes creamy.
- 15. Remove the pot from the heat.
- 16. Crumble the Geniesser slices into the sauce.
- 17. Stir the slices into the sauce.
- 18. Season the sauce with salt and paprika powder.
- 19. Add the sauce and the apple pieces to the macaroni.
- 20. Mix everything well together.
- 21. Spread Reibegenuss and breadcrumbs over the macaroni.
- 22. Bake the macaroni in the oven for about 12 minutes until golden brown.
- 23. Halve the onions and peel them.
- 24. Cut the onions into thin strips.
- 25. Mix the onions in a bowl with 2 tablespoons of flour and a pinch of salt.
- 26. Heat oil in a pot for frying on high heat.
- 27. Fry the onions for about 6 minutes until golden brown.
- 28. Remove the fried onions from the oil using a slotted spoon.
- 29. Let the fried onions drain on kitchen paper.
- 30. Wash the chives and shake them dry.
- 31. Cut the chives into thin rings.
- 32. Carefully remove the macaroni from the oven.
- 33. Serve the macaroni onto plates.
- 34. Garnish the dishes with fried onions and chives.
