  1. 1. Slice the vanilla pod lengthwise.
  2. 2. Scrape out the tiny seeds from the pod with a knife.
  3. 3. Place the seeds and the empty pod into a pot.
  4. 4. Add the wine and the sugar.
  5. 5. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  6. 6. Peel the pears but leave the stem attached.
  7. 7. Add the pears to the boiling liquid.
  8. 8. Reduce the heat to low.
  9. 9. Cover the pot.
  10. 10. Let the pears simmer gently for about 20 to 25 minutes.
  11. 11. Turn the pears once halfway through the cooking time.
  12. 12. Remove the cooked pears from the pot.
  13. 13. Let the remaining liquid reduce for about 5 to 7 minutes.
  14. 14. Place the pears and the syrup liquid into a bowl.
  15. 15. Let the pears cool down.
  16. 16. Pour the cream into a separate bowl.
  17. 17. Whip the cream stiffly using a hand mixer with the whisk attachment.
  18. 18. Take a cooled vanilla pear.
  19. 19. Drizzle some syrup over the pear.
  20. 20. Place a scoop of chocolate ice cream next to it.
  21. 21. Fill the whipped cream into a piping bag.
  22. 22. Pipe small heart shapes of cream around the ice cream.
  23. 23. Serve the dessert immediately.
