🍽️ Oven Paprika Chicken with Crispy Schupfnudeln

Ingredients
- chicken breast fillets 600 g
- salt pinch
- oil 6 tbsp
- poultry seasoning 2 tsp
- bell pepper, red 1 pc
- bell pepper, yellow 2 pc
- onions, yellow 1 pc
- parsley, fresh 20 g
- sugar 1 tsp
- tomato paste 3 tbsp
- heavy cream 200 g
- cornstarch 3 tsp
- milk 200 ml
- pepper, black ground pinch
- Gouda, grated 100 g
- butter 1 tbsp
- Schupfnudeln 800 g
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius fan mode.
- 2. Rinse the chicken breasts and pat them dry with kitchen paper.
- 3. Season the meat with a pinch of salt.
- 4. Mix two tablespoons of oil with poultry seasoning in a bowl.
- 5. Place the chicken breasts in the marinade and turn them so they are well coated.
- 6. Wash the bell peppers and cut them in half lengthwise.
- 7. Remove the stems and seeds from the pepper halves.
- 8. Cut the flesh into thin strips.
- 9. Peel the onion and cut it in half.
- 10. Slice the onion halves into thin rings.
- 11. Wash the parsley and shake it dry.
- 12. Pluck the leaves from the stems and chop them finely.
- 13. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a pan over high heat.
- 14. Fry the chicken breasts for about two minutes on each side.
- 15. Place the pre-fried fillets into a baking dish.
- 16. Add two tablespoons of oil to the still hot pan.
- 17. Fry the onion rings for about two minutes.
- 18. Add the pepper strips to the onion.
- 19. Sprinkle the vegetables with a pinch of sugar.
- 20. Fry the vegetables for another two minutes.
- 21. Stir the tomato paste into the vegetables.
- 22. Fry the tomato paste briefly.
- 23. Deglaze the pan with the cream.
- 24. Mix the starch in a cup with three tablespoons of cold water until smooth.
- 25. Add the starch solution to the pan.
- 26. Stir the milk into the sauce.
- 27. Bring the sauce to a brief boil.
- 28. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- 29. Pour the paprika sauce evenly over the meat in the baking dish.
- 30. Sprinkle the dish with grated Gouda cheese.
- 31. Place the baking dish in the oven for about twenty minutes.
- 32. Heat one tablespoon of oil and one tablespoon of butter in a clean pan over medium heat.
- 33. Fry the schupfnudeln for about five minutes until golden brown.
- 34. Turn the noodles occasionally while frying.
- 35. Remove the chicken from the oven after the baking time.
- 36. Portion the chicken, sauce, and schupfnudeln onto plates.
- 37. Garnish the dish with the chopped parsley.
