🍽️ Classic Spanish Potato Tortilla

Ingredients
- onions 2 pcs
- potatoes, mainly waxy 1 kg
- oil 500 ml
- eggs 5 pcs
- salt pinch
Instructions
- 1. Halve the onions and remove the outer skin.
- 2. Cut the onions into thin strips.
- 3. Peel the potatoes and rinse them under running water.
- 4. Slice the potatoes into very thin rounds.
- 5. Heat 500 milliliters of oil in a tall pot.
- 6. Add the potato slices and onion strips to the hot oil.
- 7. Fry the vegetables for about 20 minutes.
- 8. Stir the vegetables occasionally while frying.
- 9. Whisk the eggs in a separate bowl with salt.
- 10. Lift the fried vegetables out of the oil with a slotted spoon.
- 11. Mix the drained vegetables with the whisked eggs.
- 12. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius fan.
- 13. Pour the frying oil out of the pan.
- 14. Reheat the pan with 4 tablespoons of oil on high heat.
- 15. Pour the potato-egg mixture into the hot pan.
- 16. Fry the tortilla for about 5 minutes on the stovetop.
- 17. Place the pan in the preheated oven.
- 18. Let the tortilla set in the oven for approx. 10 minutes.
- 19. Remove the tortilla from the oven.
- 20. Place a plate on top of the pan.
- 21. Carefully turn the tortilla out onto the plate.
