  1. 1. Cut the onion in half and remove the outer skin. Also peel the garlic clove.
  2. 2. Place the onion and garlic in the mixing bowl. Chop both for 5 seconds on speed 8.
  3. 3. Use a spatula to push the chopped mixture down from the walls of the bowl.
  4. 4. Add the olive oil. Sauté the mixture for about 4 minutes at 100 degrees Celsius on speed 2.
  5. 5. Stir in the chopped tomatoes, the broth, and the rice.
  6. 6. Cook the soup for 15 minutes at 100 degrees Celsius on speed 1.
  7. 7. Wash the basil and shake it dry.
  8. 8. Pluck the leaves from the stems and chop them finely.
  9. 9. Heat a non-stick pan without fat over medium to high heat.
  10. 10. Toast the pine nuts in the pan for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  11. 11. Add the crème fraîche to the mixing bowl with the soup.
  12. 12. Heat the soup for 3 minutes on speed 2 at 100 degrees Celsius.
  13. 13. Season the soup to taste with salt, sugar, and chili.
  14. 14. Fill bowls with the hot soup.
  15. 15. Garnish the soup with a dollop of crème fraîche, the fresh basil, and the toasted pine nuts.
