  1. 1. Rinse the zucchini under running water.
  2. 2. Slice the zucchini into thin, long strips or use a vegetable peeler.
  3. 3. Season the zucchini slices with a pinch of pepper.
  4. 4. Also rinse the tomatoes thoroughly.
  5. 5. Cut each ham slice in half.
  6. 6. Wrap a tomato alternately with a zucchini slice and a half of ham.
  7. 7. Secure the package with a wooden skewer.
  8. 8. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan over medium heat.
  9. 9. Fry the skewers for about 4 minutes until golden brown on all sides.
  10. 10. Let the skewers drain on kitchen paper.
  11. 11. Arrange the finished skewers in glasses.
  12. 12. Garnish the dish with fresh basil if desired.
