🍽️ Crispy Tofu with Sweet and Sour Sauce and Quinoa

Ingredients
- Quinoa 300 g
- Salt pinch
- Water 900 ml
- Tofu, plain 400 g
- Olive oil 1 tbsp
- Oil 2 tbsp
- Onions, yellow 1 pc
- Garlic cloves 1 pc
- Soy sauce 50 ml
- Honey 2 tbsp
- Sriracha sauce 2 tbsp
- Vinegar 1 tbsp
- Ginger, fresh 20 g
- Spring onions 1 pc
- Pepper, black ground pinch
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the quinoa thoroughly in a sieve with lukewarm water.
- 2. Bring 900 milliliters of salted water to a boil in a pot.
- 3. Add the quinoa to the boiling water.
- 4. Cook the quinoa over low heat with the lid on for about 12 minutes.
- 5. Remove the pot from the heat and let the quinoa swell for another 5 minutes.
- 6. Stir some olive oil into the finished quinoa.
- 7. Halve the onions, peel them, and dice them finely.
- 8. Peel the garlic and cut it into small cubes as well.
- 9. Wash the spring onions, cut off the ends, and slice them into thin rings.
- 10. Pat the tofu dry and cut it into four slices.
- 11. Season the tofu slices with salt.
- 12. Heat oil in a frying pan on the highest setting.
- 13. Fry the tofu in the pan until crispy.
- 14. Fry the diced onions in a separate pan.
- 15. Add the garlic to the onions and fry it together for about 1 minute.
- 16. Stir soy sauce, honey, Sriracha, 100 milliliters of water, vinegar, ginger, salt, and pepper into the pan.
- 17. Let the sweet and sour sauce reduce until it has a thick consistency.
- 18. Portion the quinoa onto plates.
- 19. Place the crispy tofu on top of the quinoa.
- 20. Pour the sweet and sour sauce over the tofu.
- 21. Sprinkle the dish with the sliced spring onions.
