🍽️ Homemade Thousand Island Dressing

Ingredients
- Eggs 1 pc.
- Shallots 1 pc.
- Pickle spears 1 pc.
- Mayonnaise 5 tbsp.
- Ketchup 2 tbsp.
- Tomato paste 1 tbsp.
- Balsamic vinegar, light 1 tbsp.
- Soy sauce 1 tsp.
- Chili, ground 0.5 tsp.
- Salt pinch
- Pepper, black ground pinch
Instructions
- 1. Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil.
- 2. Carefully place the egg into the boiling water and cook it for about 8 minutes until hard-boiled.
- 3. Remove the egg from the water and immediately hold it under cold running water so it is easy to peel.
- 4. Peel the egg and cut it into fine cubes.
- 5. Halve the shallot, remove the skin, and cut it into fine cubes as well.
- 6. Halve the gherkin and cut it into fine cubes.
- 7. Put mayonnaise, ketchup, tomato paste, vinegar, soy sauce, one tablespoon of gherkin juice, and chili powder into a tall container.
- 8. Puree the ingredients with a hand blender until the mixture is fine and smooth.
- 9. Gently fold in the diced shallot, egg, and gherkin into the sauce.
- 10. Season the dressing to taste with salt and pepper.
- 11. Pour the dressing over your salad or store it in a closed jar in the refrigerator.
