🍽️ Texas Chili Dogs with Coleslaw

Ingredients
- ground meat, mixed 500 g
- salt pinch
- cayenne pepper pinch
- tomato paste 1 tbsp
- onions, yellow 2 pcs
- oil 4 tbsp
- parmesan 80 g
- pepper, black ground pinch
- baguette 2 pcs
- hot dog sausages 4 pcs
- white cabbage 0.5 pcs
- carrots 4 pcs
- ketchup 4 tbsp
- yogurt, plain 300 g
- fried onions 4 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with fan setting.
- 2. Place the minced meat in a bowl.
- 3. Add salt, cayenne pepper, and tomato paste.
- 4. Mix the ingredients thoroughly.
- 5. Cut the onions in half.
- 6. Peel the outer skin off the onions.
- 7. Dice the onions into small cubes.
- 8. Heat two tablespoons of oil in a frying pan.
- 9. Sauté the onions over medium heat for two minutes.
- 10. Add the minced meat to the pan.
- 11. Fry the meat for three minutes.
- 12. Deglaze the meat with 100 milliliters of water.
- 13. Remove the pan from the heat source.
- 14. Grate half of the Parmesan cheese over the meat mixture.
- 15. Let the cheese melt in the warm meat.
- 16. Mix everything well until the cheese is distributed.
- 17. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- 18. Cut the baguettes in half crosswise.
- 19. Slice the buns lengthwise, but do not cut all the way through.
- 20. Place one sausage into each bun.
- 21. Place the meat mixture on top of the sausages.
- 22. Place the buns on a baking sheet with the open side facing up.
- 23. Grate the remaining Parmesan cheese over the buns.
- 24. Bake the buns in the oven for 15 minutes.
- 25. Cut the white cabbage in half.
- 26. Remove the hard core from the cabbage.
- 27. Slice the cabbage into thin strips.
- 28. Wash the carrots under running water.
- 29. Peel the carrots.
- 30. Grate the carrots coarsely.
- 31. Place the cut cabbage and grated carrots into a bowl.
- 32. Add salt, pepper, and ketchup.
- 33. Knead the ingredients well together.
- 34. Add the yogurt to the bowl.
- 35. Mix the yogurt with the vegetables.
- 36. Adjust the seasoning of the salad.
- 37. Carefully remove the chili dogs from the oven.
- 38. Place the hotdogs on plates.
- 39. Sprinkle the hotdogs with fried onions.
- 40. Serve the hotdogs together with the coleslaw.
