  1. 1. Peel the potatoes and wash them thoroughly.
  2. 2. Cut the potatoes into cubes of about 2 centimeters.
  3. 3. Place the potato cubes in a pot with salted water.
  4. 4. Bring the water to a boil and cook the potatoes until tender for about 15 minutes.
  5. 5. Halve the onion and peel it.
  6. 6. Dice the onion into small cubes.
  7. 7. Peel the garlic and chop it finely.
  8. 8. Take half of the chopped garlic and put it in a bowl.
  9. 9. Add the minced meat, the egg, the breadcrumbs, salt, and 0.5 teaspoons of paprika powder.
  10. 10. Mix all ingredients in the bowl thoroughly.
  11. 11. Shape the meat mixture into small balls.
  12. 12. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan over high heat.
  13. 13. Fry the meatballs on all sides for about 5 minutes.
  14. 14. Remove the cooked meatballs from the pan and set them aside.
  15. 15. Add another 1 tablespoon of oil to the same pan and heat it.
  16. 16. Fry the onion cubes together with the remaining garlic for approx. 2 minutes.
  17. 17. Season the onions with salt, paprika powder, chili, and sugar.
  18. 18. Deglaze the pan with chopped tomatoes and vinegar.
  19. 19. Let the tomato sauce simmer.
  20. 20. Add the meatballs back into the sauce after about 5 minutes.
  21. 21. Let everything simmer further over low heat.
  22. 22. Place the cooked potatoes in a colander.
  23. 23. Let the potatoes drain well.
  24. 24. Heat 6 tablespoons of oil in a different pan over medium to high heat.
  25. 25. Fry the potato cubes until crispy for about 10 minutes.
  26. 26. Remove the potatoes from the pan.
  27. 27. Drain the potatoes on kitchen paper.
  28. 28. Season the potatoes with salt and paprika powder.
  29. 29. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in the pan over high heat.
  30. 30. Fry the Padrón peppers in the hot oil for about 4 minutes.
  31. 31. Fry the peppers until the skin blisters.
  32. 32. Sprinkle the peppers with a little salt.
  33. 33. Arrange the fried potatoes, meatballs, and peppers on a plate.
  34. 34. Serve the tapas platter and enjoy your meal!
