🍽️ Sushi Burger with Teriyaki Salmon

Ingredients
- Sushi rice 250 g
- Salt 1 tsp
- Sugar 2 tsp
- Rice vinegar 4 tbsp
- Soy sauce 8 tbsp
- Beet syrup 3 tbsp
- Salmon fillet, frozen 300 g
- Mini cucumbers 2 pcs
- Avocado 1 pc
- Mayonnaise 4 tbsp
- Wasabi paste 1 tbsp
- Oil 2 tbsp
- Sesame, white 2 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the sushi rice in a sieve several times until the water runs clear.
- 2. Place the rice in a pot and add 650 milliliters of water.
- 3. Let the rice soak for ten minutes.
- 4. Bring the water to a boil and reduce the heat.
- 5. Simmer the rice for ten minutes on low heat, keeping the lid closed.
- 6. Remove the pot from the heat and let the rice rest for another ten minutes.
- 7. Allow the cooked rice to cool down.
- 8. Mix salt, sugar, and vinegar in a second pot.
- 9. Heat the mixture on low heat until everything has dissolved.
- 10. Let the vinegar mixture cool down.
- 11. Gently fold the cooled vinegar mixture into the rice using a wooden spoon.
- 12. Mix six tablespoons of soy sauce with beet syrup in a bowl.
- 13. Wash the salmon and pat it dry.
- 14. Cut the salmon into strips.
- 15. Add the salmon strips to the soy sauce mixture and let them marinate.
- 16. Wash the cucumbers and slice them lengthwise.
- 17. Halve the avocado and remove the pit.
- 18. Use a spoon to separate the avocado flesh from the skin.
- 19. Slice the avocado.
- 20. Mix mayonnaise with wasabi in a small bowl.
- 21. Rinse a bowl with a diameter of about six centimeters with cold water.
- 22. Divide the rice into eight portions.
- 23. Press one portion of rice into the wet bowl to shape it.
- 24. Remove the shaped rice from the bowl and set it aside.
- 25. Repeat the process with the remaining rice portions.
- 26. Remove the salmon from the marinade and catch the marinade in a container.
- 27. Heat a pan with oil on medium heat.
- 28. Pan-fry the teriyaki salmon for two to three minutes.
- 29. Add the caught marinade to the pan and let it reduce briefly.
- 30. Spread the wasabi mayonnaise onto four rice buns.
- 31. Top the buns with avocado, cucumbers, and teriyaki salmon.
- 32. Cover the burgers with the remaining rice buns.
- 33. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the burgers.
- 34. Serve the sushi burgers with soy sauce to taste.
