  1. 1. Heat the milk in a pot for about 1 minute until it is lukewarm. Crumble the yeast into a small bowl and dissolve it together with 1 tbsp sugar in the lukewarm milk. Cover the bowl and let the yeast mixture rest for about 15 minutes.
  2. 2. In the meantime, mix the remaining sugar (37 tsp), flour, salt, and the butter cut into pieces in a bowl. Add the yeast mixture and the eggs and knead everything into a homogeneous dough.
  3. 3. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until its volume has approximately doubled.
  4. 4. Knead the dough briefly again and process it further according to the recipe. The recipe yields enough dough for one baking sheet or a Bundt pan (22 cm Ø). Enjoy!
