  2. 2. Crumble the yeast into a bowl.
  3. 3. Dissolve the yeast with one tablespoon of sugar in the lukewarm milk.
  4. 4. Cover the bowl.
  5. 5. Let the mixture rest for about 10 minutes.
  6. 6. Mix the remaining sugar, flour, salt, and butter pieces in a bowl.
  7. 7. Add the yeast milk and the eggs.
  8. 8. Knead everything into a smooth dough with your hands.
  9. 9. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel.
  10. 10. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  11. 11. Wait until the dough has roughly doubled in size.
  12. 12. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (fan).
  13. 13. Sprinkle flour on a work surface.
  14. 14. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1 cm thick.
  15. 15. Spread fruit spread over the dough.
  16. 16. Leave the top third of the dough unspread.
  17. 17. Roll up the dough from the longer, spread side.
  18. 18. Cut the dough into pieces about 5 cm thick.
  19. 19. Make cuts about 5 cm deep at the ends of the rolls.
  20. 20. Gently pull the dough strands apart to form ears.
  21. 21. Place the pieces on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  22. 22. Let the bunnies rest for about 20 minutes.
  23. 23. Bake the bunnies in the oven for about 20 minutes.
  24. 24. Cut a lemon in half.
  25. 25. Squeeze out the juice.
  26. 26. Mix powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice in a bowl.
  27. 27. Stir the mixture into a thick glaze.
  28. 28. Remove the bunnies from the oven.
  29. 29. Pour the glaze over the warm pieces.
  30. 30. Serve the bunnies warm or cold.
