🍽️ Crunchy Campfire Bread

Ingredients
- yeast, fresh 0.5 pcs
- water 250 ml
- sugar 1 tsp
- wheat flour, type 405 400 g
- salt 1 tsp
- olive oil 2 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the lukewarm water in a bowl.
- 2. Let the mixture rest covered for about 10 minutes.
- 3. Add flour, salt, and oil to the bowl.
- 4. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
- 5. Let the dough rise covered in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- 6. Wait until the dough volume has doubled.
- 7. Meanwhile, remove the bark from the sticks.
- 8. Knead the dough one more time briefly.
- 9. Divide the dough on a floured surface into 8 equal portions.
- 10. Shape each portion into a strand about 50 cm long.
- 11. Press the strands slightly flat.
- 12. Wrap each strand tightly around a stick.
- 13. Hold the breads over the embers of a grill or campfire.
- 14. Bake the breads for about 15 to 20 minutes.
- 15. Turn the breads regularly while doing so.
- 16. Keep a safe distance from the embers so the breads do not burn.
- 17. Let the breads cool down briefly.
- 18. Carefully remove the bread from the stick before serving.
