  3. 3. Let the butter cubes soften slightly at room temperature.
  4. 4. Place the butter in a bowl.
  5. 5. Add 110 grams of powdered sugar.
  6. 6. Add a pinch of salt.
  7. 7. Crack an egg into the bowl.
  8. 8. Add the flour to the bowl.
  9. 9. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
  10. 10. If the dough is too dry, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of cold water.
  11. 11. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap.
  12. 12. Place the dough in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.
  13. 13. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  14. 14. Sprinkle some flour on a work surface.
  15. 15. Roll out the dough on the floured surface.
  16. 16. Ensure the dough is about 3 millimeters thick.
  17. 17. Cut out round cookies with a diameter of about 5 centimeters.
  18. 18. Take half of the round cookies.
  19. 19. Cut out small stars with a diameter of about 2 centimeters from the center of these cookies.
  20. 20. Place the cookies with some space between them on a baking sheet.
  21. 21. Line the baking sheet with baking paper.
  22. 22. Bake the cookies in the oven for about 12 minutes.
