🍽️ Juicy Steak Sandwich with Creamy Arugula Mayo

Ingredients
- garlic cloves 2 pcs.
- olive oil 4 tbsp.
- beef rump steaks 3 pcs.
- vine tomatoes 3 pcs.
- onions, yellow 1 pcs.
- arugula 200 g
- mayonnaise 6 tbsp.
- mustard 3 tsp.
- salt pinch
- pepper, black ground pinch
- sugar pinch
- ciabatta bread 2 pcs.
Instructions
- 1. Peel the garlic clove and mince it very finely.
- 2. Mix the minced garlic with the olive oil in a small bowl.
- 3. Rinse the meat and pat it dry with a kitchen towel.
- 4. Rub the meat all over with the garlic-oil mixture.
- 5. Let the meat rest for a short moment to absorb the oil.
- 6. Rinse the tomatoes under running water.
- 7. Remove the hard stem area from the top of the tomatoes.
- 8. Slice the tomatoes into even slices.
- 9. Halve the onion and peel off the outer skin.
- 10. Slice the onion into very thin rings.
- 11. Rinse the arugula and let it drain well.
- 12. Take half of the arugula and chop it roughly.
- 13. Put the mayonnaise and the mustard into a separate bowl.
- 14. Mix the mayonnaise and mustard thoroughly.
- 15. Season the sauce with a pinch of salt.
- 16. Add freshly ground pepper.
- 17. Add a small amount of sugar to balance the acidity.
- 18. Fold the roughly chopped half of the arugula into the finished sauce.
- 19. Preheat your grill to the highest setting.
- 20. Place the steak on the hot grill.
- 21. Grill the steak for about 4 minutes on the first side.
- 22. Flip the steak and grill it for another 4 minutes on the other side.
- 23. Slice the ciabatta bread in half.
- 24. Open the bread so it unfolds like a book.
- 25. Brush the inner cut surfaces with the remaining garlic oil.
- 26. Place the bread with the cut side down on the grill.
- 27. Grill the cut surface for about 2 minutes until golden brown.
- 28. Flip the bread and grill the other side for 2 minutes as well.
- 29. Take the cooked steak off the grill and place it on a work surface.
- 30. Wrap the steak tightly in aluminum foil.
- 31. Let the wrapped steak rest for 5 minutes.
- 32. Spread the arugula mayonnaise onto the grilled inside of the ciabatta.
- 33. Place the onion rings evenly on top of the sauce.
- 34. Distribute the tomato slices over the onions.
- 35. Slice the rested steak into thin slices.
- 36. Place the meat slices on top of the bread with toppings.
- 37. Season the meat once more lightly with salt and pepper.
- 38. Garnish the sandwich with the remaining fresh arugula.
- 39. Serve the sandwich immediately and enjoy it.
