🍰 Spanish Flan

Ingredients
- Sugar 180 g
- Water 3 tbsp
- Eggs 4 pcs
- Vanilla extract 1 tsp
- Milk 500 g
Instructions
- 1. Fill a heatproof baking dish with about two centimeters of water.
- 2. Place the water-filled dish into the oven.
- 3. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 4. Put 100 grams of sugar and some water into a saucepan.
- 5. Cover the saucepan with a lid.
- 6. Bring the sugar-water mixture to a boil.
- 7. Let the mixture simmer until the water has evaporated.
- 8. Watch for the formation of sugar syrup and then caramel.
- 9. Do not stir while cooking.
- 10. Pour the hot caramel directly from the saucepan into the individual molds.
- 11. Cover the bottom of the molds completely with the caramel.
- 12. Whisk the eggs, 80 grams of sugar, and vanilla extract briefly.
- 13. Ensure that the ingredients have combined.
- 14. Warm the milk in the same pot you used to make the caramel.
- 15. Do not let the milk boil.
- 16. Remove the milk from the heat.
- 17. Pour the warm milk slowly into the egg-sugar mixture.
- 18. Whisk everything until no lumps remain.
- 19. Pour the cream into the molds on top of the caramel.
- 20. Place the molds into the hot water in the oven.
- 21. Bake the flan at 150 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 22. Bake until the mixture is set.
- 23. Carefully loosen the flan from the edge of the mold with a knife.
- 24. Invert the flan onto a plate.
- 25. Serve the dessert.
