Ingredients

Instructions

  1. 1. Cut onions in half, peel, and dice finely. Peel garlic and chop finely as well. In a bowl, thoroughly mix the minced meat with the egg, half of the onions and garlic, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into balls about 4 cm in size.
  2. 2. Bring about 5 liters of salted water to a boil in a large pot. In another pot, heat oil over medium heat and brown the meatballs in it for about 5 minutes. Then remove the balls from the pot and set aside on a plate. Do not clean the pot.
  3. 3. Place the pot back over medium heat and sweat the remaining onions and garlic in the frying fat for approx. 2 minutes. Add the tomato paste, fry for another 2 minutes, and deglaze with red wine. Let the red wine reduce for about 1 minute.
  4. 4. Add the tomatoes, season with salt, pepper, sugar, and oregano. Place the meatballs in the sauce and simmer covered for about 10 minutes.
  5. 5. Cook the spaghetti in boiling salted water for about 10 minutes until al dente and drain in a sieve.
  6. 6. Serve the spaghetti together with the meatballs in the tomato sauce on plates. Enjoy your meal!
