Ingredients
- onions, yellow 2 pcs.
- garlic cloves 1 pcs.
- minced meat, mixed 600 g
- eggs 1 pcs.
- breadcrumbs 80 g
- salt pinch
- pepper, black ground pinch
- oil 4 tbsp
- tomato paste 2 tbsp
- red wine, dry 150 ml
- tomatoes, chopped 850 g
- sugar pinch
- oregano, dried 1 g
- spaghetti 500 g
Instructions
- 1. Cut onions in half, peel, and dice finely. Peel garlic and chop finely as well. In a bowl, thoroughly mix the minced meat with the egg, half of the onions and garlic, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into balls about 4 cm in size.
- 2. Bring about 5 liters of salted water to a boil in a large pot. In another pot, heat oil over medium heat and brown the meatballs in it for about 5 minutes. Then remove the balls from the pot and set aside on a plate. Do not clean the pot.
- 3. Place the pot back over medium heat and sweat the remaining onions and garlic in the frying fat for approx. 2 minutes. Add the tomato paste, fry for another 2 minutes, and deglaze with red wine. Let the red wine reduce for about 1 minute.
- 4. Add the tomatoes, season with salt, pepper, sugar, and oregano. Place the meatballs in the sauce and simmer covered for about 10 minutes.
- 5. Cook the spaghetti in boiling salted water for about 10 minutes until al dente and drain in a sieve.
- 6. Serve the spaghetti together with the meatballs in the tomato sauce on plates. Enjoy your meal!
