  1. 1. Fill a large pot with about 4 liters of water and add salt. Cover the pot and bring the water to a boil.
  2. 2. Halve the onions and peel them. Cut the onions into small cubes.
  3. 3. Clean the mushrooms with a kitchen towel if necessary. Slice the mushrooms thinly.
  4. 4. Heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a frying pan over high heat.
  5. 5. Fry the mushrooms in the hot pan for about 4 to 5 minutes.
  6. 6. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the diced onions to the pan.
  7. 7. Sauté the onions for about 3 to 4 minutes.
  8. 8. Add the spaghetti to the boiling salted water.
  9. 9. Cook the spaghetti for about 9 to 11 minutes until al dente (firm to the bite).
  10. 10. Drain the pasta in a colander.
  11. 11. Do not rinse the pasta with water.
  12. 12. Toss the drained spaghetti with 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  13. 13. Set the spaghetti aside.
  14. 14. Take 3 to 4 tablespoons of the pasta cooking water and put it in a bowl.
  15. 15. Add cream cheese, salt, and pepper to the bowl with the cooking water.
  16. 16. Whisk the mixture in the bowl well with a whisk.
  17. 17. Drain the peas in a sieve.
  18. 18. Add the cream cheese mixture and the drained peas to the pan with the onions.
  19. 19. Warm the sauce in the pan over medium heat for about 2 minutes.
  20. 20. Make sure the sauce does not boil so that the cream cheese does not curdle.
  21. 21. Wash the basil thoroughly.
  22. 22. Dry the basil.
  23. 23. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
  24. 24. Finely chop or tear the basil leaves.
  25. 25. Add the sauce and half of the basil leaves to the spaghetti in a bowl or pot.
  26. 26. Mix everything well together.
  27. 27. Season the spaghetti with salt and pepper to taste.
  28. 28. Serve the spaghetti with the sauce on deep plates.
  29. 29. Sprinkle the finished dishes with the remaining basil.
