  1. 1. Bring five liters of water with salt to a boil in a large pot.
  2. 2. Add the spaghetti to the boiling water.
  3. 3. Cook the pasta for about nine minutes until al dente.
  4. 4. Reserve a small bowl of pasta cooking water.
  5. 5. Drain the spaghetti and let them drain well.
  6. 6. Peel the garlic cloves and chop them very finely.
  7. 7. Halve the onion, peel it, and cut it into coarse cubes.
  8. 8. Wash the lemon thoroughly.
  9. 9. Grate about one teaspoon of lemon zest finely.
  10. 10. Squeeze the juice of the lemon.
  11. 11. Halve the avocados and remove the pits.
  12. 12. Carefully scoop the avocado flesh out of the skin with a spoon.
  13. 13. Wash the basil and shake it dry.
  14. 14. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
  15. 15. Finely chop the basil leaves.
  16. 16. Heat a frying pan over high heat.
  17. 17. Toast the pine nuts for about three minutes until golden yellow.
  18. 18. Remove the pine nuts from the pan and place them on a plate.
  19. 19. Add two tablespoons of oil to the same pan.
  20. 20. Heat the oil over medium heat.
  21. 21. Add the cubed onion and chopped garlic to the pan.
  22. 22. Sauté the vegetables for about three minutes until translucent but not brown.
  23. 23. Place the avocado, lemon juice, lemon zest, onion, and garlic into a tall container.
  24. 24. Blend the ingredients finely until a smooth sauce forms.
  25. 25. Add some of the reserved pasta water as needed to adjust the consistency.
  26. 26. Season the avocado sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
  27. 27. Toss the drained spaghetti directly in the pot with the avocado sauce.
  28. 28. Plate the spaghetti.
  29. 29. Garnish the dishes with the chopped basil and toasted pine nuts.
  30. 30. Serve the dish immediately and enjoy.
