🍽️ Danish Smørrebrød with Herring and Crisp Apple

Ingredients
- onions, red 1 pc.
- chives, fresh 10 g
- apples, red 1 pc.
- rye bread 8 slices
- remoulade 4 tbsp
- herring fillet 400 g
Instructions
- 1. Cut the onion in half.
- 2. Peel off the outer skin of the onion.
- 3. Slice the onion into very thin rings.
- 4. Wash the chives under running water.
- 5. Dry the chives with a kitchen towel.
- 6. Cut the chives into small rolls.
- 7. Wash the apple thoroughly.
- 8. Cut the apple into four quarters.
- 9. Remove the core and seeds from the apple quarters.
- 10. Slice the apple flesh into thin slices.
- 11. Spread the rye bread evenly with remoulade.
- 12. Place the herring fillets on the bread.
- 13. Distribute the onion rings over the herring.
- 14. Add the apple slices as a topping.
- 15. Sprinkle the chive rolls on top for garnish.
- 16. Serve the finished smørrebrød on a plate.
