🍽️ Classic Bread Dumplings

Ingredients
- Bread rolls 8 pcs
- Milk 300 ml
- Salt pinch
- Parsley, fresh 20 g
- Onions, yellow 1 pc
- Oil 1 tbsp
- Butter 1 tbsp
- Eggs 3 pcs
- Pepper, black ground pinch
- Breadcrumbs 1 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Cut the stale rolls into small cubes.
- 2. Spread the bread cubes in a shallow dish.
- 3. Heat the milk in a pot.
- 4. Pour the hot milk over the bread cubes.
- 5. Wait until the bread is just moist enough.
- 6. Let the mixture cool and soak.
- 7. Fill a large pot with about 5 liters of water.
- 8. Add salt to the water.
- 9. Bring the salted water to a boil.
- 10. Cover the pot.
- 11. Wash the parsley thoroughly.
- 12. Shake the parsley dry.
- 13. Pick the parsley leaves off the stems.
- 14. Finely chop the parsley leaves.
- 15. Halve the onion.
- 16. Peel the onion.
- 17. Dice the onion finely.
- 18. Heat oil and butter in a frying pan.
- 19. Sauté the onion over medium heat.
- 20. Sauté the onion for about 3 minutes.
- 21. Cook the onion until translucent.
- 22. Squeeze the bread lightly.
- 23. Place the bread in a bowl.
- 24. Add the parsley to the bowl.
- 25. Add the sautéed onion to the bowl.
- 26. Add the eggs to the bowl.
- 27. Season with salt.
- 28. Season with pepper.
- 29. Mix all ingredients well.
- 30. Check the consistency of the mixture.
- 31. If the mixture is too soft, add breadcrumbs spoonful by spoonful.
- 32. Wet your hands.
- 33. Form dumplings about 5 cm in size from the mixture.
- 34. Keep the water slightly salted and simmering.
- 35. Place the dumplings in the water.
- 36. Cover the pot.
- 37. Cook the dumplings over low heat.
- 38. Cook the dumplings for about 20 minutes.
- 39. Remove the dumplings from the water.
- 40. Let the dumplings drain.
- 41. Serve the dumplings immediately.
