🍰 Homemade Donuts

Ingredients
- milk 200 ml
- yeast, fresh 0.5 pc.
- sugar 70 g
- wheat flour, Type 405 400 g
- salt pinch
- butter 50 g
- eggs 1 pc.
- rapeseed oil 1 L
- chocolate, dark 100 g
- sugar pearls 50 g
Instructions
- 1. Warm the milk in a pot for about 1 minute until it is lukewarm.
- 2. Crumble the yeast into a small bowl.
- 3. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar to the yeast and dissolve both in the lukewarm milk.
- 4. Cover the bowl and let the mixture rest for approx. 15 minutes.
- 5. Mix sugar, flour, salt, and the cubed butter in a large bowl.
- 6. Add the yeast milk and the egg to the flour mixture.
- 7. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
- 8. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel.
- 9. Let the dough rise in a warm place for approx. 1 hour until it has doubled in size.
- 10. Lightly dust a work surface with flour.
- 11. Roll out the dough to approx. 1.5 cm thickness.
- 12. Cut out circles with approx. 8 cm diameter using a cutter.
- 13. Cut out a smaller circle in the center of each circle.
- 14. Heat frying oil in a pot.
- 15. Test the oil temperature by holding a wooden spoon handle in it; bubbles should form.
- 16. Fry the donuts in batches for approx. 2–3 minutes on both sides until golden brown.
- 17. Let the donuts drain on kitchen paper.
- 18. Let the donuts cool down completely.
- 19. Bring approx. 1 liter of water to a boil in a pot.
- 20. Chop the chocolate finely.
- 21. Melt the chocolate in a metal bowl over the hot water bath.
- 22. Dip the donuts halfway into the melted chocolate.
- 23. Let the excess chocolate drain well.
- 24. Decorate the donuts with sugar pearls.
- 25. Set the donuts aside to let the chocolate dry.
