  1. 1. Cut the vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the seeds with a knife. In a pot, bring 450 ml milk together with the vanilla pod and seeds to a boil over medium heat.
  2. 2. Separate the egg and use the egg whites for something else. In a bowl, whisk 50 ml milk with the cornstarch, sugar, and egg yolk until well combined.
  3. 3. As soon as the milk boils, stir in the cornstarch and egg mixture, bring it back to a boil while stirring constantly, then remove from the heat. Let the homemade vanilla pudding cool slightly and serve. Enjoy!
