  1. 1. Drain the cherries in a sieve. Catch the cherry liquid in a pot.
  2. 2. Add the sugar to the pot with the cherry juice. Heat the mixture on medium until it boils.
  3. 3. Mix the cornstarch in a small bowl with a little cold water until you have a smooth paste.
  4. 4. Pour the starch paste into the boiling cherry juice. Stir until the liquid thickens.
  5. 5. Add the drained cherries to the thickened sauce. Stir them in.
  6. 6. Let the cherry mixture cool down completely.
  7. 7. Put the whipping cream and vanilla sugar into a large bowl.
  8. 8. Whip the cream stiff using a hand mixer with a whisk attachment.
  9. 9. Mix the quark in a separate bowl with the stiffly whipped cream.
  10. 10. Add 4 tablespoons of sugar to the quark-cream mixture. Stir everything well.
  11. 11. Crumble the chocolate cookies into coarse pieces using your hands.
  12. 12. Place a layer of crumbled cookies at the bottom of a glass.
  13. 13. Layer spoonfuls of the cherry mixture and spoonfuls of the quark-cream mixture alternately into the glass.
