🍰 Classic Scottish Shortbread

Ingredients
- butter 150 g
- sugar 100 g
- salt pinch
- wheat flour, Type 405 250 g
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 2. Take some soft butter and put it into a large bowl.
- 3. Add sugar, a pinch of salt, and the flour to the butter.
- 4. Mix all ingredients well until a homogeneous dough forms.
- 5. Place the dough in the refrigerator for about one hour to let it firm up.
- 6. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- 7. Roll out the dough on the baking paper into a rectangle measuring 15 by 28 centimeters.
- 8. Make sure the dough is about 1 centimeter thick.
- 9. Prick the surface of the dough evenly with a fork.
- 10. Put the tray into the preheated oven.
- 11. Bake the shortbread for a total of 25 minutes.
- 12. Cover the pastry with aluminum foil after 15 minutes so it does not become too dark.
- 13. Take the shortbread out of the oven when the time is up.
- 14. Cut the pastry into strips while it is still warm.
- 15. Let the strips cool down completely.
