🍽️ Crispy Chocolate Whoopie Pies

Ingredients
- butter 300 g
- Sugar 150 g
- Salt Pinch
- Eggs 1 pc
- Cocoa powder 5 tbsp
- Wheat flour, Type 405 100 g
- Baking powder 1 packet
- Yogurt, plain 150 g
- Powdered sugar 3 tbsp
- Cinnamon Pinch
- Chocolate sprinkles, milk chocolate 5 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with fan.
- 2. Beat 100 grams of butter, sugar, and a pinch of salt in a bowl with a hand mixer until creamy.
- 3. Stir the eggs into the butter-sugar mixture.
- 4. Mix cocoa powder, flour, and baking powder in a separate bowl.
- 5. Alternately add the dry mixture and the yogurt to the batter and stir briefly.
- 6. Place the dough in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes.
- 7. Line two baking sheets with baking paper.
- 8. Take the dough out of the fridge and form 16 small mounds on the sheets using a tablespoon.
- 9. Make sure the mounds have plenty of space between them.
- 10. Bake the sheets one after the other for about 15 minutes in the oven.
- 11. Remove the whoopie pies from the oven when the edges are slightly crispy.
- 12. Let the pies cool completely on a wire rack.
- 13. Beat 200 grams of butter in a bowl with the hand mixer until creamy.
- 14. Gradually add powdered sugar to the butter and stir it in.
- 15. Season the buttercream with a pinch of salt and cinnamon.
- 16. Chill the filling briefly to let it set.
- 17. Spread the buttercream onto 8 whoopie pies up to the edges.
- 18. Place the remaining 8 pies on top as lids.
- 19. Spread chocolate sprinkles on a plate.
- 20. Roll the edges of the finished pies in the sprinkles.
- 21. Serve the whoopie pies and enjoy them.
