  1. 1. Heat the oven to 175 °C (top/bottom heat). Bring about 500 ml of water to a boil in a pot. Line a springform pan with baking paper and grease the edges. Roughly chop the couverture. Melt the couverture together with the butter in a bowl over a water bath.
  2. 2. Meanwhile, beat the eggs and sugar in a bowl with a hand mixer and a whisk until frothy. Slowly add the melted couverture to the egg mixture while stirring constantly. Pour the chocolate batter into the springform pan and bake it in the oven for about 20 minutes.
  3. 3. Carefully remove the chocolate cake from the oven and serve it immediately or after cooling. Enjoy! Tip: Fresh berries, some vanilla sauce, or a scoop of ice cream go well with this.
