  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
  2. 2. Chop the chocolate into coarse pieces.
  3. 3. Cut the butter into small cubes.
  4. 4. Bring about 1 liter of water to a boil in a pot.
  5. 5. Place a metal bowl over the pot so it touches the steam but does not sit in the water.
  6. 6. Add the chocolate pieces and butter cubes to the metal bowl.
  7. 7. Stir gently until the chocolate and butter are completely melted.
  8. 8. Remove the bowl from the pot and set it aside.
  9. 9. Take a separate, large bowl.
  10. 10. Add 300 grams of cane sugar to the bowl.
  11. 11. Whisk the eggs together with the sugar using a whisk until the mixture is light and frothy.
  12. 12. Pour the melted chocolate-butter mixture into the egg-sugar mixture.
  13. 13. Stir everything well until a uniform, smooth mass is formed.
  14. 14. Take a sieve and hold it over the bowl.
  15. 15. Sift flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt into the mixture.
  16. 16. Gently mix the dry ingredients into the batter until just combined.
  17. 17. Grease a baking dish with some butter or oil.
  18. 18. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared dish.
  19. 19. Take a small bowl for the filling.
  20. 20. Add cream cheese to the small bowl.
  21. 21. Add egg liqueur to the cream cheese mixture.
  22. 22. Add 30 grams of sugar to the cream cheese mixture.
  23. 23. Stir the cream cheese, egg liqueur, and sugar until smooth.
  24. 24. Drop the cream cheese mixture spoonful by spoonful onto the brownie batter.
  25. 25. Drag a fork through the two batters to create a marble pattern.
  26. 26. Place the dish in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes.
  27. 27. Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool for a short while.
  28. 28. Cut the brownies into individual pieces.
  29. 29. Check the baking time with a toothpick: it should come out moist, but not wet with batter.
