🍽️ Quick Christmas Goose

Ingredients
- goose, ready for the kitchen 4,2 kg 1 pc
- onions, yellow 1 pc
- oranges 1 pc
- apples, red 1 pc
- thyme, fresh 10 g
- salt pinch
- pepper, black ground pinch
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 2. Wash the goose thoroughly and pat it dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Let the goose sit at room temperature for a while to warm up.
- 4. Cut the onion with the skin into large chunks.
- 5. Wash the orange and apple and cut them into eighths.
- 6. Wash the thyme and shake it dry.
- 7. Place the onion, apple, orange, and thyme into a bowl.
- 8. Season the mixture generously with salt and pepper.
- 9. Rub the goose inside and out thoroughly with salt and pepper.
- 10. Stuff the goose with the seasoned fruit and onion mixture.
- 11. Close the opening of the goose with toothpicks.
- 12. Tie the opening securely with kitchen twine.
- 13. Place the goose breast-side down on a wire rack.
- 14. Place the rack on the middle rack of the oven.
- 15. Place a baking sheet under the rack to catch dripping fat.
- 16. Bake the goose for about 3 to 4 hours until golden brown and crispy.
- 17. Turn the goose over after half the cooking time.
- 18. Increase the oven temperature to 220 degrees with grill function when 10 to 20 minutes remain.
- 19. Keep a close eye on the goose during this phase to prevent burning.
- 20. Carefully remove the goose from the oven.
- 21. Serve the goose whole or carved into portions.
