🍰 Quick Apple Jelly with Caramelized Walnuts

Ingredients
- walnut kernels 50 g
- sugar 50 g
- lemons 2 pcs.
- apples, red 1 pc.
- apple juice 600 ml
- jam sugar 500 g
Instructions
- 1. Roughly chop the walnuts.
- 2. Heat a pan over medium heat.
- 3. Roast the nuts in the dry pan.
- 4. Sprinkle sugar over the nuts.
- 5. Stir the nuts constantly until the sugar caramelizes.
- 6. Place the nuts on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 7. Let the nuts cool down.
- 8. Break the cooled nuts into small pieces.
- 9. Wash the lemon thoroughly.
- 10. Cut the lemon in half.
- 11. Squeeze the juice from the lemon.
- 12. Wash the apple.
- 13. Remove the core from the apple.
- 14. Slice the apple into very thin slices.
- 15. Place the apple slices in a bowl.
- 16. Add two tablespoons of lemon juice to the apples.
- 17. Mix the apples with the juice.
- 18. Put the lemon juice and jam sugar into a pot.
- 19. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring occasionally.
- 20. Let the mixture simmer for about three minutes.
- 21. Drain the juice from the apple slices.
- 22. Add the apple slices to the boiling sugar solution.
- 23. Cook the apples for about half a minute.
- 24. Stir the caramelized walnuts into the jelly.
- 25. Rinse clean jars (250 milliliters each) with hot water.
- 26. Fill the jelly immediately to the brim into the hot jars.
- 27. Distribute the apple slices and caramel evenly in the jars.
- 28. Seal the jars tightly.
- 29. Let the jars cool down.
- 30. Serve the jelly with vanilla ice cream if desired.
